In the Orion ED80 Apo Refractor, images appear extremely sharp with no false color. This telescope is suited for viewing both planetary and deep-sky objects as well as for astrophotography. Perfect for the intermediate observer or astrophotographer.

This was my first telescope that I used when starting astrophotography and I still go back to it when I want to image at 600mm f.l. I strongly suggest flocking the inside of the focuser with self-adhesive flocking material to reduce contrast and reflections of bright off-field stats. This scope also works great as a guide scope with large aperture imaging scopes.
I have recommended this scope to many club members who are getting started in AP.
Favorite viewing location: Blue Canyon, CA, but anywhere where it's dark!
Favorite object to observe: Nebulas and galaxies.
Pros: good optics, solid focuser
Cons: needs better baffling in the focuser path, can't collimate front element
Yes, I recommend this product!
