The Orion Intelliscope to PC RS-232 Connector Cable allows you to connect your IntelliScope Object Locator to a serial port on your personal computer so you can use astronomy software to control your Orion Dobsonian IntelliScope.

Obsolete and badly needs to be updated

This is supplied with a huge Serial-to-RS-232 adapter while laptops and netbooks use USB ports exclusively. So, you are forced to buy a USB-to-Serial adapter locally, into which you plug the Serial-to-RS-232 adapter, ending up with two adapters between your laptop and scope. That is absurd. Orion should insist that the manufacture supply a USB-to-RS-232 adapter and provide low cost (or, free) replacements to everyone who has purchased this item.
