The Orion StarShoot Pro V2.0 Deep Space Color CCD is a high resolution 6.1 megapixel camera at a a great price. It is thermoelectrically cooled to dramatically reduce noise, giving you detail-rich shots with enough resolution for large format prints.
M27 4-22-12 35-180 sec lights,15 BIAS, 10 Flats, 10 Darkflats Processed in Maxim DL Pro 5. Total time 1 hr 45mins. Imaged with Orion 8 inch f4.9 reflector with ST80 autoguider on Sirius Mount.
This CCD camera is a very good deal. the 6.1MP gives great resolution of images. Installation of the software and drivers were simple( on Windows XP). There is a pretty big learning curve that has to be overcome. I've had this camera for almost 2 months now and with each session I can say that my images are getting progressively better. Don't get discouraged. this is a real CCD imaging camera. Forget the lower end CCD camera that other manufactures offer. If you can afford this camera, this is a great entry level CCD.
Compact 50mm guide scope makes it easy to add accuracy to astrophotographs. Includes Mini 50mm Guide Scope, adjustable bracket, dovetail mounting base, adapter plate, and more. For use with astrophotography telescopes up to 1500mm focal length.
I purchsed the Awesome autoguider package a year ago. Which included a ST 80mm, Starshoot Autoguider, Tube rings and dovetail. (great product!!) I have that on my 8 inch reflector. I was fortunate enough to get a ST120 f5 for Christmas and needed this smaller guidescope for AP. This mini was the logical choice. So I purchsed it after christmas. It is uber easy to setup, focus and now I can move my SSAG from the ST80 and the ST120 without issue. You have to focus the mini like you do other finderscopes, but after you have the Parfocal ring loceked in place and adjusted, only minor adjustment are needed if any. This little autoguider is great. This Puppy guides like a champ!!!
The Celestron 25x70 Skymaster binocular combines big aperture with high power, resulting in maximum image brightness in low-light and long-range conditions. Multi-coated lenses offer sharp, clear views of the night sky and distant landscapes.
I think these are suprisingly light for how big they are. The Mount adapter is okay, make sure you use these with a good sturdy tripod. Don't try to hold them or you'll get vertigo.. Optics are very good. I use these for a quick fix when I take the dogs out at night. Soft case is nice for storage. The only issue that I have is that I have to spread out the Binoculars all the way out and I still don't think that it is enough.
The 2" Orion Dielectric Mirror Star Diagonal boasts 99% reflectivity giving you very bright images. It is very durable and includes a 2"-1.25" adapter so you can use all your 1.25" and 2" eyepieces.
I bought this to complete my Orion 120mm ST Refractor that I got as a gift for christmas. I was looking at the standard 2 inch diagonal, but went with the dielectric because of the enhanced quality and the compression ring instead if the simple screw lock. It was a little more but I think I made the right choice. I was able to reach focus on all my eyepieces except an older Orion 5mm kellner. I have a 2 inch 26mm Q70, 1.25 inch sirius plossl 32,25,10 and 7.5mm. I also have a 3mm Long eye relief. This diagonal provides a very nice image with little degradation. A must for any 2inch refractor focuser!!!
Slightly higher power than the 32mm, the 26mm Orion Q70 Wide-Field Eyepiece still gives you the super-wide 70-deg field of view, great for a new perspective on your favorite objects. The multi-coated lenses provide clear, high contrast images.
After reading all the reviews, I figured I'd give this EP a try. Holy cow, this thing ROCKS!!! It it the first Eyepiece that I put in after alignment is done. The reviews are not wrong. It really looks like your just floating out in space roaming the heavens. I'm seriously thinking about purchasing another!!! Great optics and Value. I have a Skyview Pro 8 inch reflector and a 120mm ST refractor. Views are great in both!!!
The Orion LaserMate Deluxe Telescope Collimator makes aligning your Newtonian's Optics a simple one-step procedure. It is smaller, lighter and less expensive than the previous version.
The collimater makes getting your mirror alignment right with ease. After purchasing my SVP8 I then purchased the collimator. Out of the box, my SVP8 was off just a bit. i adjusted it to center up. things are looking REAL good now. I then put the collimator in an old (90's) 4.5 inch reflector that had not been aligned in decades. When I first put it in, the collimation was so off that the laser was shooting out the tube. After alignment with the laser collimator this scope is as clear as my 8 in reflector. The collimator is so easy to use. I can check my collimation whenever I need to. Great Job again Orion!!!
Power your Orion Atlas or Sirius mount from a household 110-volt outlet with this AC-to-DC power adapter. This adapter also provides power for your Parsec 8300C, 8300M, and StarShoot Pro Deep Space Color imaging camera.
The 32mm Orion Sirius Plossl Eyepiece is ideal for all types of telescopes, and with its wide field of view it provides clear, sharp, high contrast images.
This eyepiece is right at the low end of my SVP8 's magnification. The EP has a very nice low mag view. very crisp and clear!! another addition to my Sirius Plossl collection. Price is nice too. Great Job again Orion!!!!
The Large Orion Deluxe Accessory Case is perfect for storing all your telescope accessories safely and securely. It is a sturdy aluminum-clad case with egg crate foam on top and die-cut foam holes, bins and slots on bottom for all your gear.
I bought the medium case first and quickly ran out of space. The large case holds my eyepieces, 2 inch barlow, filters, Autoguider camera, and DSLR accessories ( t-rings, prime focus Adapters, etc..). These cases are very nice and look good. I haven't messed with the locks. Some reviews say the locks are cheap and maybe they are a little on the skimpy side, but do you really need to lock up your stuff?? I have a Medium case that has become my setup case and my Large holds all my viewing/Astrophoto stuff. I have tons of room in this case. I'm gonna get a couple of 2 inch eyepieces to fill it out a bit. A++
Are you looking for a sturdy case to protect your eyepieces and other accessories? The medium Orion Deluxe Accessory Case holds 8 1.25" eyepieces plus has bins for other accessories. A shoulder strap and locking latches with keys are provided.
I got the Medium Case to hold my accessories ( eyepieces, filters, etc..) I quickly realized that if you have a goto scope A/C adapter and Autoguider camera this case is too small. I purchased the Larger case later. The large case holds my eyepieces, 2 inch barlow, filters, Autoguider camera, and DSLR accessories ( t-rings, prime focus Adapters, etc..). I cut out some of the foam in my medium case to store all my cables (usb, usb extension, laser collimater, serial cable for goto, and A/C adapter for goto. These cases are very nice and look good. I haven't messed with the locks. Some reviews say the locks are cheap and maybe they are a little on the skimpy side, but do you really need to lock up your stuff?? My Medium case has become my setup case and my Large holds all my viewing/Astrophoto stuff.
Favorite viewing location: Home
Favorite object to observe: M42
Pros: looks good, fairly sturdy
Cons: can't hold 2 inch eyepieces, can run out of space quickly
