For safely observing the sun through an Orion ShortTube 4.5 and SkyQuest XT4.5, you need the 5.81" ID Orion Solar Filter. This filter allows you to see details on the sun's surface and provides more contrast and natural light than Mylar filters.

It is hard to beat the value of this solar filter. The views are amazing with great clarity and contrast. Sunspots are easily resolved and I plan on using this filter for Astrophotography when Venus transits in June weather permitting of course.
Pros: easily ans securely fastens
Cons: i'm working on it
Yes, I recommend this product!

I added this focuser to my ST-120 since the focuser that it came with was just too course and what a difference it makes. It was very easy to replace the old focuser with this one. Just remove a couple screws and voila. The operation of this focuser is very smooth making it much easier to achieve prime focus. Well worht the money for the upgrade.
Pros: easy to replace old focuser, smooth operation
Cons: should be standard on cetain scopes like the st-12
Yes, I recommend this product!

This compact large-aperture telescope is perfect for wide-field views and deep-sky pursuits. Use the Orion 120mm for astrophotography or add an optional 25mm Plossl telescope eyepiece for amazing views. Add to your favorite mount or tripod.

My biggest complaint on this scope is the optics were way better than I expected for a OTA of this price. Trust me you will spend the extra cash for the upgraded focuser. This being my only true complaint. Orion should just offer the OTA with the better focuser and save us all the hassle.
Pros: optics better than expected
Cons: come on orion just put the better focuser on this

I really can't complain. I bought a st-120 and these are the rings for it. With the threads they worked well with the mounting system I use with my LX-200.
