The Orion ShortTube 80 is perfect being used as a guide scope with a CCD autoguider. It is a compact scope with optics that deliver bright wide-field images. This product is just the tube assembly with no accessories.

The short tube 80 is exactly as described. I bought as both an interim scope and a future auto guider. (I spent my cash on an atlas mount first). I added some accessories I plan on using on my future scope to the shorty and was very impressed with how bright and clear the moon and stars were. From my light polluted back yard not only could I make out m31 I was able to get an ok photo. Not to mention the not half bad photos of m42 and the very nice photos of the moon. I am looking forward to using it as an autoguider, but for now am very pleased with its performance as my main scope.
