The Orion Mini Giant 9x63 Binoculars excel for both astronomical and terrestrial viewing. These binoculars grab more light than a 50mm yet they don't have the weight or bulk of larger giant binoculars. Long eye relief makes for comfortable viewing.
My wife always enjoyed wide-sky views while I was using the telescope with a rinky-dink pair on 7x35s from our camping kit. I did my research online and found the Orion Mini-Giants to be well liked, especially for the price. They seemed like the most aperture, without over-magnifying, that I could get without breaking the bank. Being from Orion Telescopes, it was only appropriate that the first object I viewed with the Mini-Giants was the Orion Nebula in M42. That was followed by the Pleiades and Jupiter. These binoculars are beautiful: well-made, good optics, easily handled, and plenty of light-gathering power. These are going to be greatly enjoyed on many camping trips to come.
