Starboy's Reviews

The mirror in this 1.25" Orion Enhanced Star Diagonal has been meticulously polished and features enhanced aluminum coatings to yield excellent 97% reflectivity. It fits 1.25" focusers and accepts 1.25" eyepieces. Ideal for refractor telescopes.

Very fine quality product to give the crisp view
of all the celestial objects within the resolution of
my 80mm refractor. I was not aware the image would
be reversed. That was a shock to see Pleiades
reoriented. That is my only disappointment. I wanted
the extra quality reflectivity if it only had the correct
image orientation.
Favorite object to observe: M-42, M-45 and Double Cluster
Cons: lacks correct orientation
Yes, I recommend this product!

This solar filter fits the Orion StarMax, Apex 90, and Meade ETX-90. The 4.10" Orion Full Aperture Solar Filter is a must for safely viewing or photographing the sun's surface. Provides more contrast and more natural color than Mylar filters.

Years ago my practice to view the Sun was to hold a white card
before the eyepiece and focus the image projected. Worked fine
but I noticed the mirror diagonal is now scorched a bit with a haze.
I determined then the only safe way to view the Sun is with a
proper solar filter. This filter is excellent in fit and finish and am
glad it is a glass filter than a plastic film type. The included foam
shims a nice means to insure a snug and non marring fit. I have
the Orion EZ Finder Deluxe finder and am glad for the hood it
includes to insure the sun is not a hazard there. The Sun is
clearly visible with sunspots in full detail. The only other valued
accessory would be a narrowband hydrogen-alpha filter.
Favorite object to observe: Sun, Moon and planets
Pros: excellent construction
Yes, I recommend this product!
