With the internal GPS, just choose any 3 bright stars or planets in the sky and the telescope is aligned and oriented. For the intermediate to advanced viewer, the Celestron CPC 800 XLT Goto that can take you to any of more than 40,000 objects.

I recently purchased the 800 after being an LX200 user for several years. I am amazed with the product's pointing accuracy - even when mounted on a wedge. Polar alignment was effortless with the optional wedge. The wedge seems perfectly suited for the 800. I have been able to take unguided images in prime focus with a digital SLR up to 4 minutes in length before noticeable star trailing is present in an image. Viewing is fantastic and was comparable to my 12" with the XLT coatings that are used in production of the new 800's. The GPS was quite sensitive. It locked onto Satellites INSIDE my apartment, which surprised me. Great product, robust construction, well thought out design!
