Orion Premium 110mm f/7 ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope
Orion Premium 110mm f/7 ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope
The Orion Premium 110mm ED Apo is a great telescope for the intermediate observer or astrophographer. The ED glass reduces false color and increases sharpness. Use the included tube rings and mounting plate to put this on your favorite mount.

I received my new 110 ED last week, and the first impressions were that this is one fantastic scope. My skies weren't that great the night of first light, but I imaged M13, M92, Albireo, and Epsilon Lyrae just to test it out. I Imaged Jupiter as well then finished up. The stars were sharp pinpoints, and Albireo's colors were visible with ease using my TeleVue 13mm Nagler Type 6. It was truly an impressive sight. Epsilon Lyrae was a little tougher to split visually. I used a 2x TeleVue Big Barlow with the 13mm to split it, but the stars showed a very clean split. M13 and 92 were just as good. Jupiter was an awesome sight. The cloud bands were easily visible, as was the Great Red Spot. Teamed up with my Celestron CGEM mount, I am enjoying Astronomy even more than before. I just "converted" from a fork mounted 10" SCT, and the changeover was well worth doing. I am just blown away by the sharpness, and absence of color, etc. This is also a fantastic imaging scope, too. I've "double barlowed" several planets and bright stars, and was equally impressed. This one's a keeper! I can use it both in the field, and my home observatory easily, which was difficult to do with a 10" SCT. The only con is not giving a choice of dovetails. I'd like to see a wide Losmandy dovetail offered as a alternate choice, otherwise you can't go wrong with this scope.
