This 4.57" ID set of Orion binocular solar filters for the GiantView 100mm Binoculars is a must have for safely viewing details on the suns surface. These filters provides more contrast and more natural color than Mylar filters.

I got the 3.40" ones for the 15 x 70 Orion Resolux binoculars..and the sun appears as a nice yellowish orange circle in which solar spots are very easy to see.. I set them up and had my relatives look though them and they all though it was really neat...The sun is going to be very active now reaching its peak in 2012 in which scientists are saying most likely will cause lots of problems for us due to solar flares...Im really glad I got these, its so much fun looking at the sun seeing new sunpots each day..

This Orion Solar Filter fits Orion 8" Dobsonians, allowing you to safely observe or image the sun. The glass filter is better than mylar because it improves contrast (more natural yellow-orange color rather than blue) and is more durable.

Orion did a nice job with these...I wish I would have gotten one long ago.. I put it on my Meade 8" scope and saw sunsposts the first time I used it.. the sun appeared as a very nice yellowish orange natural color more on the yellow side..I used two 26mm 60 degree eyepieces in the bino viewer which gave me 77X and was able to fit the entire sun in the field of view..The next solar maximum will be in 2012 which will be very powerful and will have lots of sunspots during that time, which will also cause major consequences for our planet.

The 40mm Orion HighLight Plossl is a very low powered telescope eyepiece perfect for viewing deep space objects. The fully multi-coated optics give you bright, sharp images and provides a high degree of color correction.

The Orion binocular viewer has a pronounced effect on viewing the planets and Moon as well as deep-sky objects. Now includes a 2x Barlow lens to reach focus with most telescopes. Use almost any matching pair of 1.25" eyepieces (sold separately).

These are really neat....I use them on my 8'' meade and put in 2 26mm eyepieces (77x) and the moon is just amazing, I even showed people that dont even care much about astronomy and they really like it too- Even star clusters look very well- The Orion nebula using this is twice the show- I Highly encourage everyone to get one..

These things are built like a tank and come with an impressive carry case and tripod adapter bracket..Nice crisp images of the Moon, Sirius, Arcturus, star clusters and comets..Pleiades came in very nice as well, Antifogging lenses- Tripod highly recommended since they get heavy quick.
