Tired of looking at objects with only one eye? The Orion BinoViewer with Sirius eyepieces lets you use both your eyes for more clarity when viewing the planets and moon. Includes 2x Barlow lens, two 20mm Sirius Plossl Eyepieces and a storage case.
I have not seen many visual observers using binos at star parties and gatherings. I always get rave reviews from novices and experienced alike, when they look through the Orion binos on my 8" SCT and gaze at the Orion Nebula or Saturn, or Jupiter, or the Moon! Nothing beats using both eyes to view the heavens. It automatically gives an expansive view, with more clarity and contrast than when viewing through one eyepiece. I had my binos out last night in my front yard, showing the neighbors Saturn. Even with a street light hitting my scope (including the binos), Saturn still looked bright and sharp in the binos, fitted with the included 20mm Plossls. Of course, Saturn is a bright object, the binos perform much better where street lights aren't hitting you. Also, when using binoviewers, objects look larger, I imagine because of the reduced eye strain. And of course the price beats having to buy Denkmeiers (a great maker of extremely high end binoviewers). For the price of the Orion binos, you get a great visual observing tool and still have funds left over to pay for gas to get out to a dark site. Dew heaters are available for binos, although not here on the Orion site. I use Dew-Not dew heaters.
