The Orion StarShoot is an easy-to-use, affordable autoguider for long-exposure astrophotography. Plug it into an autoguider port on your mount and let it do the work for you. It comes with the software and cables needed to work right out of the box!
Guiding works great. Bought two. Guiding a Atlas as well as a Celestron CR6-AGT with a CG5 mount. Well worth the money. PHD software is the best. Great job Orion.
If you're looking for a heavy duty GoTo mount for all your observing or astrophotography needs, the Orion Atlas EQ-G computerized GoTo telescope mount is perfect. It supports up to 40lbs and finds over 42,900 celestial objects with pushbutton ease.
Do you already own an equatorial mount? The Orion 254mm optical tube provides vivid, close views of deep-sky and solar system objects. This telescope includes a prime-focus camera adapter for astrophotography.
The Orion Awesome AutoGuider Package will add tracking accuracy to any astrophotography set-up. Package includes everything you need to autoguide: ShortTube 80 guidescope, StarShoot AutoGuider, guidescope rings & plate, and extension tube for focus.
This worked so well I bought two of them. Works well with the Atlas mount and my Celestron CG-5 mount. If you ever want to view though this with an eyepiece make sure you leave the 2 inch extender installed. Once I centered this scope on the same targetthe primary scope was on it was easy to swap out the eyepiece for the ccd and focus it.
The 2" Orion LRGB Astrophotography Filter Set contains 4 must haves for beautiful astrophotos: Red, Blue, Green, and Luminance IR cutoff , all in a protective case. The filters are parfocal which eliminates the task of refocusing between exposure.
Using these filters with the Nautilus Filter Wheel and Parsec mono camera is a great combo. Making the jump from OSC to LRGB imaging has easy with these fine Orion products. I highly recommend these filters.
The Orion Nautilus Motorized 2" Filter Wheel allows you to load up to 4 filters and then use the control software to change filters automatically. A great time saver for RGB and LRGB astrophotography with monochrome cameras.
I inserted Orion's LRGB filters in this unit. Powering up the sensor slammed into my Blue filter. A adjustment to the sensor fixed this. Unfortunately the blue filter is jammed so I can not remove it. Otherwise this unit works well. Good buy.
For serious CCD astrophotographers, the Orion Parsec 8300M camera provides superior resolution, regulated dual-stage thermoelectric cooling, internal full-frame 32 MB memory buffer, and a built in internal shutter for taking dark frames.
Picked up this camera along with the Nautilus Filter wheel and LRGB filters. Shooting on my Celestron CR-6AGT this camera did very well. Results are better than the Orion Star-shoot color camera. The only issue is that the software MaxImDl is in demo mode for 60 days. Another issue is that the filter wheel camera combo does not focus on the Orion 10 inch F4.7 reflector. Focus is all the way in. Adding a barlow allowed it to work. I told Orion to add a set of mounting holes about two inches up on the reflector to allow this to be fixed. I rate this camera a five, Software a 4 since your forced to buy it to run the camera passed 60 days.
The Orion StarShoot Pro V2.0 Deep Space Color CCD is a high resolution 6.1 megapixel camera at a a great price. It is thermoelectrically cooled to dramatically reduce noise, giving you detail-rich shots with enough resolution for large format prints.
So far camera has impressed me with some nice shots from South San Jose. Using a low pass filter to kill street lights I am getting good results. I have only one complaint and that is no where did the camera indicate the Bauer filter configuration. I was doing RGB and getting funny colors only to find out it was CM filtering. Once I converted all was fine. I will add the mono ccd to my collection once I get better at image manipulation.
