The Orion VersaGo II Altazimuth Mount is very stable yet light weight and portable at an affordable price. The tripod has a load capacity of 15lbs and is perfect for small to medium sized telescopes up to 6" aperture. A great grab-and-go tripod.

VersaGo II on aluminum tripod

I had a small refractor which I mounted on an old video-cam tripod. This was a frustrating combination. I couldn't look at anything near the zenith, and the azimuth axis would be difficult to use above about 30 degrees. Finally ordered the VersaGo II onthe aluminum tripod and I am very pleased with this combination. It is a joy to use, is light-weight and solid. It doesn't get much better than this!
