For the intermediate viewer the Celestron NexStar 8SE is a great portable field telescope. The one-arm mount with hand controllers puts 40,000 celestial objects at your fingertips. The portable single fork is much lighter than a two fork arm system.

This was my first foray into astronomy and so far it's been a great choice. I was amazed at what I could see just in my backyard in the city with 2 street lights overhead. It was easy to setup and align using the hand controller. You don't even need to know any names of the objects in the sky to get it setup.
Pros: price, clarity, ease of use (goto), build quality

Exactly what I needed for my Celestron 8SE

It fits the Celestron NexStar 8SE with the mount attached perfectly. The pouch on the side has plenty of room for all the power cables, the GPS unit, etc. The padding is pretty good but you still have to be careful when transporting the unit.
Pros: plenty of room for 8se attached to mount, plenty of space in the pouch for accessories.
Yes, I recommend this product!
